INNOPUR SPORT PU ALIPHATIC BINDER-1K, solvent free, moisture curing, one component, transparent, UV resistant polyurethane binder. It is designed for athletics and sports playground applications. It is based on high quality prepolymer, has excellent UV resistance and color stability.

SCOPE OF APPLICATION

FEATURES
Due to its medium viscosity, INNOPUR SPORT PU ALIPHATIC BINDER is easily mixed with EPDM granules and its flow from the granules is minimized. Due to its specific field of application, the INNOPUR SPORT PU ALIPHATIC BINDER offers a long processing time, so that the joints can be easily adjusted for quite a long time. INNOPUR SPORT PU ALIPHATIC BINDER shows good color stability. However, depending on the color of the EPDM, minor color variations of the installed flexible sheet may occur.

APPLICATION
INNOPUR SPORT PU ALIPHATIC BINDER is a one-component material whose temperature must be between 15 and 25 °C during application. The temperature of the application area should be at least 3 °C above the current dew point temperature. To lay an EPDM layer, mix EPDM (grain size 1-3.5 mm) and INNOPUR SPORT PU ALIPHATIC BINDER using a forced mixer, rotating for 3-5 minutes at a speed of approximately 300 rpm. Make sure the agitator reaches the sides and bottom areas of the mixing bowl. The material is applied with a trowel. To obtain good surface strength, the rubber granule mat must be well compacted. If necessary, use a pinch roller. Special attention should be paid to construction joints (for example when changing the EPDM color) that must be well troweled and compacted. Otherwise, defects may form on the surface, which can subsequently lead to cracks. If the recommended amount of INNOPUR SPORT PU ALIPATIC BINER is reduced, the mechanical properties will decrease and the requirements of DIN V 18035-6 specifications may not be met. The rubber granules must be dry, as moisture will accelerate the hardening of the binder, making assembly more difficult or even impossible, resulting in an uneven surface and a poor mat. The working life and setting time of INNOPUR SPORT PU ALIPHATIC BINDER is affected by ambient, material and surface temperature as well as humidity. At low temperatures and humidity, the reaction time results in longer pot life, recoat interval and open time. At the same time, viscosity increases, which requires increased mixing time and higher consumption. At high temperatures and humidity, the rate of the reaction increases and vice versa.

Humidity needs to be below 40%, it may be necessary to carefully mist the mat with water to avoid unacceptable curing times, which could adversely affect the quality of the elastic layer. At low temperatures, the curing can be slightly accelerated by the use of catalysts. The amount of catalyst needed depends on environmental conditions and needs to be defined on site and can change daily. As a guide, 0.2% by weight of ACCELERATOR can be used as a percentage of binder. For the installation of an EPDM layer, we recommend using EPDM granules that have been tested and shown to be suitable for use with the INNOPUR SPORT PU ALIPHATIC BINDER-1K.

CLEANING
Reusable tools should be carefully cleaned with CLEANER or other suitable solvents (eg butyl acetate) before curing takes place. Never use water or alcohol solvent as a cleaner on uncured materials.

INFRASTRUCTURE CONDITIONS
INNOPUR SPORT PU ALIPHATIC BINDER is normally used as a conditionally UV resistant binder for the installation of an EPDM layer on an in situ mounted shock pad. The temperature of the application area must be at least 3 °C above the current dew point temperature

STORAGE
Store in its original closed packaging, in dry conditions, at a temperature range of 5-25 ° C. Do not expose the packages to direct sunlight. Before use, check the "Use by" date on the pail/barrel.
