INNOPUR SEAL PU JET SELF-2K

Product Description
INNOPUR SEAL JET SELF. PU-2K is a two-component, cold-applied, chemically curing, self-leveling polyurethane-based elastomeric joint sealant modified with coal tar. It exhibits high abrasion resistance and adhesion strength, is specially unaffected by fuels, hydraulic fluids, and oils, and is resistant to dynamic movements with high flexibility suitable for heavy traffic conditions. It is UV resistant.

INNOPUR SEAL JET SELF. PU-2K is supplied in 10 kg tin sets as Component A+B.

Applications
It is produced for parking areas, cargo areas, bridges, and roads. It is suitable for all joints and cracks where high flexibility is required. It provides superior adhesion and flexibility in concrete-concrete, asphalt-concrete, and asphalt-asphalt joints. Suitable for all types of horizontal joints in open outdoor areas.

Joint Design
Joint width should not be less than twice the expected movement or less than 6mm. In joints narrower than 16mm, the sealant depth should be set equal to the width. For joints between 16-26mm, joint depth should equal 80% of the joint width. For joints between 26-36mm, joint depth should be adjusted to 20mm. For wider joints, please contact our technical service.

To adjust the depth, a backing rod should be used in the joint. The backing material should be placed at the total calculated joint and chamfer depth. Calculated dimensions for certain joint widths are shown in the table.
In new concrete fields, the design and filling method of control joints (dummy joints) left during casting or cut after casting are also important to localize cracks caused by shrinkage during and after drying. It is recommended to review our technical document regarding joint design.

Advantages
-Cold-applied
-Chemically cures and provides a self-leveling smooth surface
-Very high abrasion resistance and bond strength
-Resistant to dynamic movements
-Ideal for all joint and crack repairs requiring high flexibility
-Provides superior adhesion and elasticity between asphalt-concrete and asphalt-asphalt joints
-Resistant to hydraulic oils, dilute acids and bases, and various chemicals
-Completely resistant to UV rays
-Can provide faster or slower curing depending on user needs.

Primer
INNOPUR SEAL JET SELF. PU-2K can be applied without primer on new concrete joints. However, applying primer in all cases minimizes the negative impact of potential contamination, concrete moisture, and loose material. Therefore, the use of primer is recommended on plastic, glass, and similar surfaces as well as all types of surfaces with continuous water contact.

Backing Material
In order to provide the filling depth determined according to the joint width, a backing rod (preferably non-adherent to the sealant) should be placed inside the joint. The diameter of the rods should be 10-25% larger than the joint width. The rod should be inserted into the joint by compression. Care should be taken not to damage the backing rod during placement. In wide joints, semi-rigid materials such as polystyrene foam can be used instead of backing rods. In such cases, a polyethylene tape must be placed over the base material to prevent adhesion of the sealant.

Mixing
INNOPUR SEAL JET SELF. PU-2K consists of two components named A and B, packaged in appropriate mixing ratios.
Open the container of Component A and mix it within itself for 1-2 minutes. Then pour the entire Component B into Component A and mix with a low-speed drill equipped with a suitable paddle for 3 minutes. In manual mixing, a longer mixing time is required to achieve a homogeneous mixture. During mixing, move the mixer all around the container and avoid trapping air into the mixture.

Application
Considering the application site and the capacity of the application equipment, the amount of sealant that can be used within its pot life should be calculated. The mixed material must be used within its pot life. No solvent should ever be used to thin sealant that has completed its pot life.

The prepared mixture is loaded into a refillable piston-type applicator (mastic gun/applicator). In both application methods, a nozzle tip suitable for entering the joint width should be attached to the tool, and while applying the sealant, this tip should be slid over the backing rod inside the joint. This ensures that no voids are left under the sealant and an adequate amount of sealant is applied. After application, the sealant surface should be smoothed with a spatula. Application can also be performed directly using a spatula. Especially in joints where decorative appearance is important, it is recommended to apply masking tape to both sides of the joint before starting. Thus, material spilled outside the joint during application is removed with the tape removed after application.

Limitations
Not recommended for joints narrower than 4 mm. Do not use on dirty, oily, bituminous, or wet joints. Cleaning such joints before application is critical to ensure good adhesion. Despite high load-bearing resistance, ice chains and high-heeled shoes can cause damage. Ambient temperature during application should not be higher than 35°C or lower than 5°C.

Application Tools
The use of professional quality equipment is recommended.
