INNOPUR SHIELD PU PLUS-1K
INNOPUR SHIELD PU PLUS-1K
DESCRIPTION
Single-component, low-viscosity polyurethane-based liquid waterproofing and protection membrane. It cures with atmospheric moisture and forms a highly elastic, durable film with strong adhesion to almost any surface. Containing a low percentage of SOLVENT (xylene), it does not require thinning. Based on pure elastomeric hydrophobic polyurethane resin and special inorganic fillers, providing excellent chemical, mechanical, thermal, and UV resistance. Applied in two coats by brush, roller, or airless spray. Minimum total consumption is 1.5-1.8 kg/m².
APPLICATION AREAS
• Gypsum and cement boards
• Bathrooms
• Verandas and balconies
• Roofs
• Lightweight roofs made of metal or fibrous cement
• Asphalt membranes
• EPDM membranes
• Stadium stands
• Car parks
• Bridge platforms
LIMITATIONS
• Not recommended for unsound substrates.
• Not suitable for waterproofing swimming pools in contact with chemically treated water.
FEATURES AND ADVANTAGES
• Adheres excellently to almost any type of surface, with or without primer.
• Requires no thinning.
• Excellent weather and UV resistance. The white color reflects a large portion of solar energy, significantly reducing internal building temperatures.
• Excellent thermal resistance; the product never softens. Maximum service temperature is 80 °C, maximum shock temperature is 200 °C.
• Cold resistant: Maintains elasticity down to -40 °C.
• Excellent mechanical properties: High tensile, tear, and abrasion resistance.
• Exhibits effective chemical resistance.
• Non-toxic after curing.
• Effective water vapor permeability: The film breathes, preventing moisture accumulation under the layer.
• Suitable primers are available for almost every type of substrate. Successful application surface types:
Concrete, fibrous cement, terrazzo, cement-based roof tiles, old but well-adhered acrylic and asphalt coatings, wood, corroded metal, and galvanized steel surfaces. For other substrates, please contact our technical department.
APPLICATION DETAILS
Substrates for successful results: Concrete, fibrous cement, terrazzo, cement-based roof tiles, old but well-adhered acrylic and asphalt coatings, wood, corroded metal, and galvanized steel surfaces. For other substrates, please contact our technical department.
SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface should ideally be cleaned using a high-pressure washer; oil, grease, fuel, and paraffin residues must be removed. It should also be completely free of form release agents, cement residues, sawdust, loose particles, and cured membranes. Surface defects and cracks should be repaired and filled with suitable products.
Priming
Use the appropriate material recommended in the primer selection list.
Mixing
Mix for 2-3 minutes using a low-speed (300 rpm) electric mixer.
Application
Apply the material in at least two coats using a roller, brush, or airless spray machine. The interval between coats should not exceed 48 hours.
CLEANING
Clean tools and equipment first with paper towels, then wipe with SOLVENT. Do not attempt to clean rollers; they cannot be reused.
CONSUMPTION
First coat: 0.8-0.9 kg/m².
Second coat: 0.7-0.9 kg/m².
Spray application: 0.8 kg/m² per coat.
Minimum total consumption
1.5-1.8 kg/m².
PACKAGING
15 kg, 25 kg, and 200 kg
SHELF LIFE
Minimum 12 months when stored in unopened original pails in dry conditions at temperatures between 5°C and 25°C. Opened pails should be used as soon as possible.
NOTE
Like all polyurethane materials, the product is sensitive to temperature variations regarding viscosity. Viscosity measurements were conducted at 25 °C according to ASTM D2196-86 standards. Viscosity increases inversely with temperature.
