AQUA GUARD BITUMEN-1K

DESCRIPTION
It is a ready-to-use, single-component, acrylic bitumen-based liquid membrane reinforced with elasticity-enhancing additives, used against water and moisture. After the evaporation of the water in its structure, it adheres perfectly to the applied surface, creating an elastic layer resistant to water and moisture.

First coat: 0.8-1.5 kg / m2

Hardness: R28 = 15 Mpa.
Moisture: W <10%.
Temperature: 5-35 °C.
Relative humidity: <85%

APPLICATION AREAS
• On horizontal and vertical surfaces,
• Under coatings in terrace waterproofing,
• In the waterproofing of foundations and basements,
• In the insulation of seepage water in indoor wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, and toilets,
• On asphalt and concrete floors,
• Used together with reinforcement like plaster mesh, insulation fabric, etc., on cracked surfaces or insulation applications required to withstand higher water pressure.

APPLICATION AND SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces must be clean, sound, load-bearing, and free from loose particles. Layers that reduce adhesion such as oil, grease, dirt, paint, cement laitance, rust, mold oil, and salt efflorescence must be completely removed prior to application. BITUMEN 1K is ready to use and single-component. It can be mixed until homogenous before application. Mixing should be done with a low-speed mixer. BITUMEN-1K product is applied to the surface by roller/brush/airless spray. Geotextile or mesh application can also be done before the product dries. Depending on the ambient temperature, the second coat is applied after 4-5 hours of drying to form a cross-link with the first coat.

APPLICATION
Applied by bitumen brush or spraying. Ready to use, it should be applied in at least two coats without thinning. It dries in approximately 4–5 hours depending on weather conditions. It should not be applied in rainy weather or at temperatures below (+)5°C.

PACKAGING AND CONSUMPTION
Supplied ready to use in 16 kg liquid plastic packaging.

CLEANING
Tools and equipment are cleaned with water.

SHELF LIFE
Can be stored for at least 24 months in unopened original dry packaging at temperatures between 5-25 °C. Once opened, use as soon as possible. Protect from freezing conditions.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
• Should not be applied on wet or frozen surfaces.
• This product is not suitable for pressurized water insulation.
• Newly applied material must not be exposed to rain and frost for 24 hours.
• In applications exposed to sunlight, the thickness must be at least 1mm.
• Pay attention to safety signs and warnings on the packaging.
• Adequate ventilation must be provided in workshops, and open flames and high heat must be avoided.
• Mix thoroughly before application. Do not leave the container cover open.
• Avoid application in expected rainy weather conditions or under rain.
• Contact with skin, eyes, and mouth should be avoided, and application should be performed taking necessary occupational safety measures. Avoid applying at temperatures below +10°C and above +35°C; do not attempt to use frozen material by adding dust or water.
